Shaping the Economy, Strengthening the Region

Since 2023, I have served as President of the Chemnitz Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In this role, I represent more than 70,000 businesses across the region – advocating for better economic conditions, vocational training and skilled talent, and greater entrepreneurial courage in Saxony.
What matters to me is that we do not simply manage the status quo, but actively shape the future – with a practical approach, a focus on solutions and a clear vision for our regional economy.

Position & Ambition

As President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, I stand for a clear direction: less bureaucracy, greater trust in entrepreneurs, an education policy that is truly fit for the future, and an economic policy that enables long-term growth. We need a strong economic foundation to safeguard our competitiveness and drive innovation. Only with a robust, strategically focused economy can we successfully meet the challenges of the years ahead. My aim is to bring the realities of business into focus and help initiate practical, tangible solutions.

What is your role at the Chemnitz Chamber of Commerce and Industry?

I am President of the Chemnitz Chamber of Commerce and Industry – an honorary role that comes with both purpose and responsibility. Together with the Executive Committee and General Assembly, I represent the interests of our regional business community and advocate for a strong business environment in Southwest Saxony.
From service providers and subsidiaries of major corporations to SMEs and the local flower shop around the corner – they are all part of our business community. Together, we are shaping the future of our region.

What are your key priorities in your work at the Chamber?

My priority is to strengthen the competitiveness of our region – by reducing bureaucracy, developing skilled talent and investing in future-ready infrastructure, including in rural areas. I also want to see more entrepreneurial experience represented in parliament – people who do not simply manage the economy, but have first-hand experience of shaping and driving it forward.

Why are you involved beyond your own company?

Because I believe entrepreneurs should take responsibility for the communities around them. If you focus solely on your own business, you miss the opportunity to actively help shape the structures and conditions that define our future.

What do you hope to see for the region’s economy?

I would like to see more courage in our region, greater trust in our entrepreneurs – and greater confidence in ourselves. We need a political framework that enables progress rather than holding it back. It is equally important to me that rural areas also benefit from the major structural investments being made in our urban centres.
