Flying as Balance and Perspective

I am one of four pilots flying the yellow Antonov An-2 – better known as “Tante Anna” – based at the airfield in beautiful Großrückerswalde. For me, flying is both a passion and a way to find balance: it combines technical expertise with responsibility and gives me the broader perspective I also need as an entrepreneur.

Commitment to Großrückerswalde

As a member of Fallschirmsportverein Rüwalders e.V., I am committed to supporting the next generation, promoting aviation sports and preserving the skydiving tradition of the Ore Mountains. My motivation is to share my passion for aviation, foster team spirit and open up new horizons.
And if you would like to experience the Ore Mountains from a bird’s-eye view – while heading towards the ground at 200 km/h – you are more than welcome to book a tandem skydive with our club.

What does flying mean to you personally?

For me, flying is about balance, clarity and focus. In the air, only the moment matters – it keeps me grounded and gives me new perspectives, both personally and as an entrepreneur.

What aircraft do you fly?

I fly an Antonov An-2 – a beautiful biplane with a rich history. A remarkable piece of engineering that inspires, challenges and brings people together.

How are you involved in aviation sports?

As a volunteer jump pilot, I make sure everyone gets safely into the air. Most of the time, though, I land on my own – everyone else has already jumped out by then. Why no one ever wants to land with me is something I still haven’t figured out.

What do flying and entrepreneurship have in common?

Both require foresight, technical expertise and clear decision-making. Whether in the air or in business, the same principles apply: take responsibility, stay focused – and never lose sight of the horizon.
