Gießerei Lößnitz GmbH is an industrial company with a proud tradition spanning more than 170 years – and the place I call my professional home. I have been Managing Director since 2020, leading the company into the future with a clear vision. We produce high-quality castings for customers such as VW, Porsche, Daimler, Aston Martin and BMW. My focus is on technological advancement, sustainable business practices and strong roots in our region.

For 176 years, we have been producing high-quality castings in the Ore Mountains – with precision, reliability and a passion for our craft. Rooted in tradition and continuously advanced through state-of-the-art technology. Today, a piece of the Ore Mountains can be found in almost every vehicle: we are one of the leading suppliers to Germany’s automotive press toolmaking industry.

From polystyrene patterns to complex ductile iron castings, we provide complete foundry services from a single source. From 250 kilograms to 18.5 tonnes, we manufacture castings precisely to your requirements – and they are 100% Made in the Ore Mountains. We are giving the Ore Mountains’ foundry tradition a future – and shaping the future in metal.

What is your role as Managing Director of Gießerei Lößnitz?

I am responsible for the company – strategically, operationally and, above all, as a leader. My goal is to lead our foundry successfully into the future: environmentally responsible, economically strong and as an attractive employer in our region.

How do you combine tradition with innovation in the company?

We preserve the craftsmanship and expertise that have defined our foundry for generations while continuously investing in modern technologies, digitalisation and sustainable production. To me, tradition and innovation are not opposites – they are the foundation of our success.

What challenges is the foundry industry currently facing?

The biggest challenges facing the foundry industry today are high energy costs, excessive bureaucracy and the shortage of skilled workers. But rather than simply complaining, we actively work on solutions – through our involvement in industry associations and organisations such as the DIHK, through targeted training and professional development, and through strong partnerships. The next ten years will undoubtedly be demanding – but: challenge accepted.

What matters most to you when working with your employees?

Reliability, openness and treating one another with mutual respect. Only with a strong team can we successfully navigate change and remain competitive – something we understand very well here.
